MiniMurderMistery
My submission for the Mini Byte Jam, theme is Choice, and the mechanic is multiple endings/sequencing. This is my first time working with CYOA style of games in Godot, and it was quite interesting, some more time would have been great to further develop character interactions.
In this experimental social deduction game, you’re in charge of assigning guests to shared rooms each night at a tense family reunion. Everyone has secrets, suspicions, and simmering tensions. Your goal, to uncover the truth and prevent a murder... or several.
The mystery unfolds through nightly conversations, growing tensions, and hidden motives. With no set limit on nights, you must experiment with character pairings to expose Diego’s lies, clear misunderstandings, and prevent deadly outcomes.
How to Play:
-
Assign Pairs Each Night:
Select a character and then select a room slot, each room can hold two people. -
Run Simulation:
Press Next Day to simulate their interactions. Characters will develop new emotions based on who they’re with and what they learn. -
Investigate:
Click each character to hear their side of the storyt, what they learned, or what they suspect. These rumors evolve based on accumulated knowledge. -
Prevent Murders:
If tensions escalate or secrets stay hidden too long, people may die. Your goal is to expose the culprit and defuse interpersonal conflicts before it’s too late. -
Winning:
Carefully coordinate pairings until the truth is exposed and no one dies.
Losing:
If anyone dies, the game ends in tragedy.
